London Planetarium

1st Aug, 2008 |

If you have a little time, a visit to the London Planetarium is a must. The London planetarium is a part of the Tussaud Group and is truly an out of this world experience. If you have ever looked up at the sky and wondered…. then you really must take some time out of your busy schedule to fit in a visit.

The British Museum

20th Jul, 2008 |

If you are interested in history and culture, a visit to The British Museum should be included in your stay. They are open daily from 10 am till 5.30 pm and open later on Thurdays and Fridays.

You might be interested to know that it is actually free to visitors and features a huge showcase ofexhibits. You should try to include time to at least see the following:-

  • The Rosetta stone
  • The Mummies
  • The stone handaxe from 800,000 BC

You might be interested to know that they offer children’s packs called the Back Pack & Family Trails which can make it fun for children. Be aware that if you don’t plan it, you can easily be surprised that the whole day has passed and there is still more for you to see.

Last but not least, you are sure to want some souvenirs from The British Museum, and if you do not fancy having to trudge around London with all your souvenirs, you can actually order them online and have them delivered directly to you. Click on the link for more information and less bags to carry round london.

Madame Tussaud’s Berlin

9th Jul, 2008 |

Madame Tussaud’s has opened in a new city – Berlin. I am sure it will be as great a hit as the original Madame Tussaud’s in London.

Entertainment with a difference!

1st Jul, 2008 |

Let us face it. You are here because you want a break from the norm. You simply need a break from day to day life. Now besides a holiday, how is best to do that? That’s it – doing something daring and something you would not normally think of. Here are some great suggestions:-

  • Take a flight in a balloon
  • Go sky diving
  • Race a car at Silver Stone
  • Fly a plane
  • Get Pampered
  • Go wine tasting

Remember that doing something extraordinary is what will make your holiday memorable. And if you are planing your holiday, it is worth noting that by booking before September 2008 (using the word Earlybird in the promotional area) you can get yourself up to 20% discount. What are you waiting for… make it SPECIAL!

Glastonbury

27th Jun, 2008 |

Glastobury starts today. Sadly all tickets have already been sold out so if you are reading this and wish to go… perhaps you need to start considering planning next year!!

This year will close with The Verve playing. Shame to miss that!

Nancy in Oliver Musical – I’d do anything!

1st Jun, 2008 |

The role of Nancy for the Oliver Musical was won by Jodie. The musical should open in December on Broadway in London. You can already book your tickets for the show from LondonTheatreDirect.

I expect there to be full houses due to the high publicity on BBC for the show “I’d do anything” in order to win the role of Nancy – so if you are planning to go – Book Now while seats are still available.

Madame Tussaud’s

15th May, 2008 |

Everyone has heard of Madame Tussaud’s London (though now also based in Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Shanghai). Madame Tussaud’s is well known for their wax works of past and present celebrities. Inside Madame Tussaud’s you can see (and have photos taken with) wax works of pretty much anyone famous including but not limited to:-

  • Princess Diana
  • The Queen
  • Prince Charles and Camilla
  • Prince William and Harry
  • Shrek
  • Spiderman
  • Hulk
  • George Clooney
  • Tara Palmer Tomkinson
  • Richard Brandson
  • John Travolta
  • Samuel L Jackson
  • Michael Jackson
  • Arnold Schwarznegger
  • Jack the Ripper
  • Keira Knightly
  • Nicole Kidman
  • Tom Cruise
  • Nelson Mandela
  • Big Brother
  • Victoria Beckam aka Posh and hubby David “Golden Balls” Beckam
  • Albert Einstein
  • Pable Picasso
  • and even Madame Tussaud herself!

You really must find time for a visit especially if you have never been. And for those who have been, there are changes and additions every year in case you were really looking for an excuse to visit.

Theme Parks

1st May, 2008 |

When you stay near Heathrow you are in an excellent area for most Theme Parks. For example Thorpe Park is under 5 miles away and Lego Land is around 12 miles away.

Any place in central London is just a train ride away including Madame Tussuad, London Zoo, Sea Life and more.

The one thing you should know is that by booking online versus turning up on the day, you can make substantial savings. I have placed a link below where you can buy your tickets online and print out before you go and you can make substantial savings on your Theme Park tickets.

Literally all you do is select, pay, print and off you go!! (with extra cash in your pocket).

Enjoy!
